I had to put this somewhere. This reminded so much of the very cute song: "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" (Camp Granada Song) by Allan Sherman. (Words below.)

Harrison

I not only want to thank my husband, James, but if it were possible, I would award him the purple-heart medal for surviving the ordeal of trying to teach his wife “the mysterious ways of computers” and for so many things he has had to endure to keep me happy. I would be lost without him. I mean that literally and figuratively (I have absolutely no sense of direction). Good man, is my James.

James' parents 50th wedding anniversary
I am about to burst out laughing. There were two cameras in front of us about to go off any second and James' aunt is telling me to "look at the camera, hold my head up, sit up straight", and on and on and I got the giggles.

Most of all, I thank the two characters that are the center of my world: Martha Jane and Josh, my very talented and independent thinking children. Josh was named after my Great Uncle, Joshua W. Meshew and Martha Jane was named after my mother, Martha Louise Finch.

Others

I would especially like to thank my aunt, Frances Fazakerly McDaniel, and her cousin, William Bryan Fazakerly, for all the information on the family that they shared with me--and for the additional information that they thought they had forgotten--which was obtained by a lot of pestering on my part.

I would also like to thank all of the people that have answered questions, sent information, and, otherwise, so graciously and unselfishly helped me in my genealogical quest. There are some really nice people out there. But first and foremost I have to acknowledge my family. I'm honored to be a part of each and every one of you.

Mary N. Sheil, from Canada, was the first person to send me copies of documented records about the history of our name. She is connected to the Fazakerleys through her mother's side.

A great big thank you goes to Margaret Denkins, a great lady and genealogist. After a chance encounter one Saturday morning, this energetic, enthusiastic, and wonderful lady got me headed in the right direction to get me started on my own research. What a guide! She even told us the best places to park when we visited research sites in Columbia, SC and Raleigh, NC! Margaret is the one that steered us in the direction of the LDS Family History Centers to do research. She explained that one does not have to be Mormon to use their facilities. The Family History Center in Florence, SC is now "my home away from home".

Have you ever tried to type hundreds, not to mention thousands, of names into “Word”? Forget it. That’s why I would like to thank our friend, Warren Dorman, for getting me started with my database. The “Swagman“ is a great guy.

I would like to thank Deb and Dave for offering suggestions about how to get all of this material online; this was something I would not have done on my own.

Honorable Mention: If I had been blessed with more than one son, I would have named him "Harry" after my uncle, Dr. Harry G. Bryan. This very serious and no-nonsense doctor also had a wonderful dry sense of humor. He took care of the entire family and everyone loved him dearly. As my cousin, John Bryan, said, "Daddy was a good guy". He was a unique man. He instilled into me the need to appreciate the family.

Other Faz's I Need To Thank

This web site and database online wouldn't exist without the following contributors: Deb, suggested using Front Page and introduced Dave's site to me; Dave, my inspiration, chief supporter, and good humored ally; my compliments for him could go on and on; Malcolm, full of great ideas, generous with his findings, and determined to keep me busy for years to come; Leslie from NZ, so positive; her cute comments have kept things in perspective. Stephen, kindly sent material in installments instead of all at once; Mick, generous with his time and contributions; Bill, creative genius and big help to me with good advice; Judy, my special "cuz", who has done so much, a special person; Joyce, went out of her way to research records in Utah. I am also thankful for the compliments I have received from others: Robert, George, & William--just to name a few. I feel so privileged to be associated with these incredibly smart and giving people.

I miss you Tommy. There is a big hole in my heart where you were.
Your sister,
Billie

*Camp Granada (Allan Sherman)

Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda
Here I am at Camp Granada
Camp is very entertaining
And they say we’ll have some fun if it stops raining
I went hiking with Joe Spivey
He developed poison ivy
You remember Leonard Skinner
He got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner
All the counselors hate the waiters
And the lake has alligators
And the head coach, wants no sissys
So he reads to us from something called Ullyses
Now I don’t want, this should scare ya
But my bunkmate has malaria
You remember, Jeffrey Hardy
They are about to organize a searching party
Take me home, oh Mudda Fadda
Take me home, I hate Granada
Don't leave me out in the forest where
I might get eaten by a bear
Take me home, I promise I will not make noise
Or mess the house with other boys
Oh please don make me stay
I have been here one whole day
Dearest Fadda, darling Mudda
How’s my precious, little brudda
Let me come home, if you miss me
I would even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me

Wait a minute, it stopped hailing
Guys are swimming, guys are sailing
Playing baseball, gee that’s betta
Mudda, fadda, kindly disregard this letta
