Outline III
Research Sources for Database Entries
Film
and Fiche Reference Numbers for England, United States, Wales, & Various
Places.
This is an important section. It lists where I found the material
in the database and states where the material came from. It is supposed to give
credit where credit is due. Others can use this to help them in their own research.
If there is not a film or fiche number listed by an entry in the database:
1) You can refer to the source mentioned in the entry (church, etc.) on my list to get the film or
fiche number to confirm the information or to do further research.
2) You can assume that the entry came from an LDS addendum # 1, # 2, # 3, or # 4
which can be found at your local Family History Center.
Note:
Original church records are always the best source for research. However that is
not always available. A lot of the LDS addendum entries do not come
directly from original records, but are
often copies of copies of records and material sent in to the Mormon church from relatives,
LDS church members, and non members that sent in personal research to be
documented and filmed--and thank
heaven that they did--for it is sometimes the only source of information available about an
individual.
3) you can usually find the film or fiche # for the child or wife--if it isn't
listed--with the "head of household" on census records.
4) Many of the LDS records--but not all--can be found on the Internet at
FamilySearch.org
I could not have done the work without the availability of
records provided by the LDS and the PRO (the British Public Records Office &
the Lancashire Public Records Office)) and
by the hard work of many others that have gone before me and by those who have
so generously shared their work with me.
I started out making a list of names--and I am still adding names to the
database--in the hope that one of the names that I have collected will one day
prove to be my elusive ancestor connected to my family line. This personal
search and research has been ongoing since 1994. If I am able to help others
along the way, then that would be a great and wonderful thing. Billie Fazakerly
