Waterloo

There two Fazackerley men that fought in the Battle of Waterloo (that we have found so far):
James Fazackerley, Quartermaster
Michael Fazackerley, Farrier

Malcolm Hulme found one and D. N. Cripps & K. L. Fazakerley Cripps found the other.

This is interesting. Do you have a James Fazackerley that might match this fellow?

Yes, 1815. (date of battle)
A quartermaster would be older than the usual cannon-fodder I think. Maybe born 1775-1785. Somewhere about there.
His regiment generally gives no clue as to his place of birth, though in those days they weren't conscripted so he would have had to volunteer at the barracks.

Also: from D. N. Cripps and K. L. Fazakerley Cripps:
Michael Fazackerley, b. abt. 1781, parents: John & Elizabeth of Liverpool; Michaels father's occupation was Copper Smelter; Michael was a Soldier and Blacksmith;
"Michael was a Farrier in the army at the Battle of Waterloo--" "Afterwards many of the soldiers & their wives were sent to France to maintain Law & Order. (Michael & Martha's son, Thomas was born in France,  1818)
Additional facts about Michael: "Michael supposedly had a brother who owned a ship yard on the Clyde River." "Michael & Martha left England in the LEVENA on 10 June 1832, arriving Van Dieman's Land (Tasmania) 10 November 1832."
