According to Neil "as for dates, I'm always wary of Jan-March figures unless they are indicated with a slash (e.g. 1667/8), you can never tell if they have been adjusted or not"; The year issue can be crucial in helping to separate families. |
Neil used Boyds & wills & parish transcripts containing precise dates to pull confusing, seemingly intertwined, family lines apart with certainty. He used precise dates when he can for his notes. |
